This gives you flexibility to build paths between any of these services, completely customized for your unique needs.

Order Desk can pull your print on demand orders in from your shopping cart(s), sync your print details into them, and then submit them to CustomCat.

As CustomCat fulfills the orders, the shipment details will be pulled back into Order Desk and sent back to the original shopping cart if your store is set up for it.

This guide explains how to set up and use the CustomCat integration.

Setup

To enable the integration, click on Manage Integrations in the left sidebar.

Under the Print on Demand tab, find and enable the CustomCat integration.

Once enabled, you will need to go back into your CustomCat account to get your API Key.

In CustomCat, at the bottom of the Account Settings page, you will see two API Keys, a Read/Write Key and a Read-Only Key. Copy the Read/Write Key and head back into Order Desk.

Enter your Read/Write API Key from CustomCat and click to connect.

If you need to apply specific methods for certain orders, match your method names to CustomCat’s names in the Shipping Class Match section below.

After Import, Move To

Select the folder you want orders to be moved into after they are successfully sent to CustomCat.
You can use one of the default folders already in your store or create your own. Read the Working with Folders guide for more information.

After Shipment, Move To

Select the folder you want orders to be moved into as CustomCat sends back shipment details.

Default Return Address

Set the default return address that CustomCat should use on your shipments.

If you need to customize the return address for certain orders, you can save different return addresses to your Store Settings and then use a rule to set the return address to specific orders.

If a return address is not added to the order, the default address set here in the CustomCat settings will be used.

For information on adding additional return addresses and applying them to specific orders with a rule, read the Store Settings guide.

Product Settings

For more information on what the product settings within the CustomCat integration do, please read the Print on Demand Product Settings guide.

Shipping Class Match

If the shipping methods you set up in your shopping cart(s) don’t match the shipping method names CustomCat uses, they won’t know what methods you intend for them to use.

When this happens, the default mail classes applied above will be used instead for all of your orders.

To tell CustomCat what methods you want them to use, you will need to match your method names to theirs.
This can be done in the shipping class match section.

For detailed instructions on setting this up, please read through the shipping class match guide.

Sending Orders to CustomCat

Initially, getting your orders ready to send to CustomCat is going to take some time before everything is in place for it to happen automatically. For detailed instructions on how to use Order Desk with your print on demand orders, please take a few moments to read the print on demand fulfillment guide. The following are item details specific to CustomCat:

  • The print_sku field is the Product ID for the parent product to be printed. These can be found from the Available Products links in the integration settings. When an order is submitted, the proper Catalog SKU ID for the size and color of each item will be sent to CustomCat.
  • The front image should go in the print_url_1 field. print_url can also be used.
  • The back image should go in the print_url_2 field.
  • You can set print_preview_1 and print_preview_2 to set as the mockup urls. If image exists, we will use this for print_preview_1.
  • If you have a Preset ID value, use the preset_id field.
  • If you have a neck label code, use the print_neck_label field.
  • Size and Color fields should match what is in the CustomCat catalog.

If you leave the size or color field out of your order, you must pass in the actual catalog ID value for the size and color combination of the garment you are ordering.
